My copy of The Artist's Way arrived today! I have had peeks into it.
Tonight I shall dive in. It will be interesting to see what she has to say.
I am not sure how it will affect me. I paint almost daily, a never ending stream of creation.
A necessity because that is how I earn my dollars.
I am wondering if maybe it is for people who are "stuck", to help them get "unstuck" and actively creating.
But I won't know until I get between those covers. It will be interesting and I am looking forward to it!
I am sure I will learn lots.

I am on day 4 of the morning pages and that is an interesting excercise. I wake up, reach over for my notebook and pen and start scribbling. Pen loosely held and the words rocket across the pages. Lots of drivel, nothing earth shattering, but is fascinating to see where my mind takes me. All over the place.
I don't imagine I'll be able to read a word of it. I have terrible handwriting as it is! You are supposed to write and write and not correct or go back. Day 5 tomorrow.

The movie Mrs. Henderson Presents was wonderful. I loved it. Judi Dench was marvellous as always and Bob Hoskins shines. I recommend it:)

You are indeed a creatively prolific artist...I'll be curious to see what you think of AW. I have my own issues with the material...and I'm trying to share those honestly on my AW blog. I don't think it has to resonate with us 100% for us to be able to get something out of it. And I agree, it's quite astounding where my head goes when writing morning pages. Sometimes deep, often nonsensical or incredibly mundane...but always good to clear my head upon waking. I'll be SHOCKED if I can read it later. I've been writing in the semi-dark (sitting at the kitchen table with just a string of lights on)...writing as fast as I can (to keep from thinking about what I'm writing)...and my handwriting is often illegible in the best of times. :)

I would never be able to reach out and start writing - my dear one would think I was bonkers and a bit sadistic to put the light on half an hour early!

Glad you received the book in time to join us! Looking at all your wonderful artwork I can see you're definitely not stuck! But maybe the AW will be like a tonic that prevents getting stuck later on :>) Anyway, I'm happy I got a chance to see your artwork (& your photos of Paris!)

The Artist's Way is super-wonderful. I still do morning pages, but now and then, not every day, though I probably should. I took a class on it on CompuServe way back when, and found it wonderfully inspiring. Have fun!

Your kitties are just so wonderful. Nobody can smile like a cat...'cept maybe a dolphin, but then they're just born that way. At any rate, you must have had cats your entire life, like me. Even though I'm allergic, I simply cannot help myself. Neferkiti will curl up on my chest and knead me, making biscuits as my sister, Ginger, says, and I'll sing to the tune of Jimmy Crack Corn, "You make me sneeze and I don't care, you make me sneeze and I don't care, you make me sneeze and I don't care, ah-choo, ah-choo, ah-choo!"
